July 17 GT ARRRI followed a new Nissan GT-R with CA dealer plates on it on the freeway this morning. Strange looking beast for sure. July 16 When was the last timeWhen was the last time you saw a Fiat 850 Spider on the street? I saw a red one this AM on the way in. I used to see a 70's green one in a carport near Northgate, but never actually saw it move under its own power. This one this morning was actually driving. I can't even remember seeing one at the Seattle Italian Concours.
Also, on the way home last night I saw a late 60's Camaro. Neat design, compaired to the annonymous blobs of today. July 11 MG AyeSomeone in the building has an MGA for a daily driver. It's always in the parking lot and sometimes there is an MGB parked next to it. It's a runner (the A), oxidized red paint, but it runs and is driven. Cool. July 07 Back from IdahoGot back from a quick trip to North Idaho yesterday. Saw a couple of new MINI's on the way and back, a few Porsche 911's too. On the 5th we went to the Bayview days parade. They had muscle cars and antique cars in the parade PLUS a '73 or '74 Alfa Spider and a Jaguar Mark II. What are you two doing in a strange place like this? Also my son and I had the chance to go sailing on lake Pend Orille on Saturday morning. Sailing is really being out on the water, whereas powerboating is like driving your car around... June 30 More CobrasWe took a trip to our friends cabin in Coupeville on Whidbey on Saturday. Passed a 427 Cobra rep. near Paine Field. Only interesting car of the trip. June 27 Save the planetSo I drove my '73 Alfa Romeo to work today. I followed a Prius for a little bit. I couldn't help but think I was undoing all of the planet saving he was doing times 2... Ha. June 24 SummerLooks like summer is finally here in the Puget Sound after a cold and crappy spring - so much for global warming... Anyway, there was a Cobra replicar in the parking garage yesterday morning. Light metalic blue with white meatballs. Kewl. September 04 Catch upWow, it's been for ever since I've posted something... In the last month we've taken our vacation to Idaho to visit relatives, visted the Grand Coulee Dam, spent some time at Sun Mountain in Winthrop and visited Fort Worden in Pt. Townsend. The gun emplacements that are nearly 100 years old at Fort Worden were super impressive.
Some cars I've spotted in no particular order that I can remember:
- A functioning Yugo in CdA in Idaho.
- A really cool 60's Rolls Royce Shooting Brake in Lake Forest Park.
- A whole gaggle of late model Maserati's in Downtown Bellvue during an afternoon. They must be selling a ton of Q-Porte's in the Seattle area, I've seen quite a few.
- A Renault R5 (LeCar) and VW Thing in Pt. Townsend.
- A whole bunch of rods & customs in the Spokane area. July 10 C'est la vieSaw some anonymous Hyundai sedan on the way in with a license plate frame "I'd rather drive a Citroen". Wonder if he was driving the Korean POS as his Citroen is nickel and diming him to death (pecked to death by ducks as Peter Egan would say). |
